Built in 1862 the palace house is located in Príncipe Real (Lisbon). Previously it was the headquarter of the House of Bragança Foundation and Instituto Camões and was abandoned since 2000. The project was finalist of the Mies Van Der Rohe Prize, in 2018 – promoted by Mies Van Der Rohe Foundation and the European Commission. Distinguished with the prize «prestigious» and the «Rehabilitation Award» in the 1st edition of the Real Estate Awards, initiative promoted by SIC Television and the Expresso newspaper. This palace house was built in 1862 and is located in Príncipe Real (Lisbon). It was previously the headquarter of the House of Bragança Foundation and Instituto Camões and was abandoned since 2000. With Manuel Mateus Frazão company we performed for a year and three months several interventions leading a team of twelve conservators-restorers with different specialities, six plasterers, a bricklayer, three painters and a polyvalent technician. Sixteen stucco ceilings were restored (total area approx. 540m2), five replicas of three ceilings were done according to the traditional techniques, and two ceilings (total area approx.: 150m2) displaced. Two niches were fully reconstructed, and other works were developed in stucco, wood structures and metals. Água de Cal was also responsible for restoring part of the furniture that will decorate in the palace. The project was one of the finalists of the Mies Van Der Rohe Prize, in 2018 – promoted by Mies Van Der Rohe Foundation and the European Commission.
